In 1979 she earned a Master’s Degree in Science in Health Education. Barb was a Professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry and the Community College of Denver School of Dental Hygiene. She taught Periodontics for 14 years before moving to the Snowmass Valley in 2005.

In 2007 Barb helped to establish and run the Aspen to Parachute Dental Health Alliance whose mission was to provide dental health education and services to those in need in our valley. During that time, she became involved with the local dental community in Pitkin and Garfield counties and collaborated with many public health professionals. Barb is proud that the Dental Alliance has been able to reach and serve many people who would otherwise have limited access to dental health care.

Barb also served on the Snowmass Capital Creek Caucus where she enjoyed finding solutions to the challenges that face our valley including the preservation of our Snowmass Creek and our rural character.

Barb enjoys skiing, hiking and biking in our valley and has sailed many thousands of miles in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
